...to talk about porn. I've never been a huge fan of it to be honest. And ye ye, I know what you're thinking. "Come on dude, everybody loves porn so damn much! What's up with you?🤠". So ok, just hear me out. Two points. First: what made sex (which porn is mainly supposed to portray) so special? Don't get me wrong, it IS special! But so is a lot of things. We watch movies where people kiss, fall in love, share joy, get kids, fight, shout, stab each other in the back and kill each other. We watch gruseom torture scenes and gunfights with bodycounts beyond belief... We watch people cut each others limbs off ffs. But seems to be all fine, since it's R-rated, or at least maybe some "restriction" of 15-16 years of age(like that ever stoped anyone 🙄). Riiiight? But when it comes to actuall love making, or fucking if you will... Then nooo, we can't have that in movies? 😵 And no, I'm not talking about "A dude and a broad is kissing and there's some moaning and flashing of skin, and faaaade to black... and Tadaaa, it's the next day"-kinds of shit. I would call that a romantic scene. Maybe a little bit on the heavier side of "romantic", but still, it's not a sex scene. I'm talkin about people having sex. You know... INTERCOURSE? Birds and the beez... No, forget about it! Ever watched Game of Thrones? Farily raw violence, but no real biggie. The reviews might say "Maybe it's a bit violent, but it's a movie about the middle ages, so it's fine! It's supposed to be gruesome". But then you watch reviews of a french "artsy" movie, where they to portray actuall intercourse, and the reviews are everything from "Why is there porn in this movie?!", or "I find this to be of bad taste" or "Such a cheap way of attracting horny boys into watching the movie". Cause ye, boys tend to get the blame whenever anything comes to sex 🙄 But that's a whole nother topic for another day. And by the way... What's wrong with horny boys wanting to watch sex in a good movie, instead of in porn? Wouldn't that be better? I think I've even read about a director being called a perv for showing real sex in his movie. Again, sex is worse than cutting of bodyparts?

Second of all: Our society (and movie industry) have for some reason come up with some "There's the normal media, that can portray EVERYTHING (but sex) for normal people... Aaaaaand then there's PORN(for horny wierdoes with a sexdrive. Losers😒)"-kind of mentality. So correct me if I'm wrong... But it seems like EVERYTHING else, fits in "normal media". Every, thing... I mean, most of us know of at least a handfull of "normal" movies that shouldn't own the right to exist. Right? But they do, while sex doesn't.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Netflix should be pornified (or maybe I do... Do I? 🤔). It's more about the hypocrisy and thoughtlessness in having a society that shames sex instead of, well... Whatever else sick shit we tend to love to watch. And the problem with keeping up that shaming by making sexual people having to run and hide on Pornhub. When was the last time you heard someone say "Damn, I watched this amazing pornscene yesterday. You should go watch it! I promise not to spoil the ending 😏"? Not too uncommon when it comes to other movies though.
And no, I'm not opposed to violence in movies, and I don't think anyone should be. It's somewhat a part of life, or at least reality, and can for sure be entertaining, interesting, exiting and enjoyable. Just... Like... Sex, can (and should) be.
I don't know what a solution would be, but isn't it sad that we're making something "uggly", "dirty" or shamefull out of something that is supposed to be some of the best in life?
I for one would be heck lot more interested in porn if it actually made me like and care about the characters and the plot. Just like in any movie. Let'em go fall in love, go shopping together, joke around, apply for a job and or whatever. And ye, then fuck in a phonebooth.
